What squawkings come from the snowy reaches of our kingdom? The so-called "Northern Army," led by the upstart baron and baroness Christopher and Miana, dare to think they can best us, the Barony of Tir Ysgithr, Gem of Atenveldt, in the Arts and Sciences! We know that none have the fortitude to challenge us in this arena. unfortunately we shall not know this year, since Ered Sul has its own A&S Championship the same day. Nevertheless, we challenge those from the north, and others from around the kingdom, to come to our Boaronial Arts & Sciences Champion Competition on May 10. Come battle for the title of Tir Ysgithr Arts & Sciences Champion and lead the charge against Ered Sul!

Visitors from other baronies/shires to the event are welcome and encouraged to compete in individual categories for prizes. However, individuals not residing in Tir Ysgithr may not compete for Baronial Championship, and Households not based within Tir Ysgithr may not compete for Household Championship.

There will be a populace display as well, and judges and donations of prizes are most welcome from all corners of the kingdom.

Posadnik Ivan and Posadnitsa Ianuk will teach classes, including a drop-spindle class. There will also be a Nine-Man Morris tournament. Brewing will be held next door at Sir Brendan and Mistress Devora's house.

Site: The Ha:San Preparatory & Leadership School (1333 E. 10th Street, Tucson, AZ 85719). Take your best route from I-10 to Broadway. (Don't forget that the I-10 is closed in downtown Tucson, so you will have to exit wherever you can on the north and south and take the freeway access road to Broadway.) Turn east on Broadway (left if coming from the north, right if coming from the south). Turn north (left) on Highland. The first stop sign is 10th. The school is on the NWC. Parking is available on 10th Street to a limited basis, and behind the school. The site is dry, and pets are not allowed.

Site opens: 8 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. Volunteers are needed.!

Site Fee: $7 for adult members, $5 for children 5-17, children under 5 are free. There is a $3 non-member surcharge. Lunch will be included, created by our talented Lady Blossom.
